A 6% part failure. 100% accountability. 0 excuses.
I don’t bury my mistakes—I build through them. Here’s what happened, what I did about it, and why we’re stronger because of it.
In mid-2021 our local subcontracted machining partner, an ITAR Certified and AS9100D and ISO9001 certified shop, delivered approximately 6% of 500 diver case components out of spec. These cases comprised part of our collaboration with Triple Aught Design. They passed inspection. They were solid. But they failed in the field.
That part had our name on it.
So we took the hit—quietly, fully, relentlessly.
Trolls tried to define us by it.
But that failure? It defined our resolve.
We regrouped.
We designed, engineered, machined, tested, built, retested, and delivered complete fixes within 30 days.
An absolute team victory—a case study in clean-sheet design, and a turning point for how we operate.
I didn’t dodge it. I rebuilt around it.
But I didn’t stop there.
We're building a new way forward—one grounded in transparency, control, and relentless execution.
We’ve shifted our operational mindset from reactive to preemptive.
From just building to fully owning every layer of the process.
That means more in-house capability.
More American parts.
Fewer outside points-of-failure.
It means partnering with machinists, engineers, and craftspeople who give a damn as much as we do.
And most of all, it means we're done playing defense.
We’re building ahead of the curve. Ahead of the naysayers. Ahead of the excuses.
