HOW IS MY DIVER-1 MANUFACTUREDYour DIVER-1 is uniquely yours and is hand-made to order and designation. The case, caseback, crown, and bezel of the DIVER-1 are manufactured from machined 316L stainless steel to exacting design specifications, The Ronda 715Li movement is manufactured in Switzerland, as well as the Super-LumiNova illumination paint on the hands, dial, and bezel.
HOW IS MY DIVER-1 WET TESTED
Each DIVER-1 is individually wet and dry testing utilizing standard pressure and vacuum testing procedures adopted by the Swiss watchmaking industry. In addition, your DIVER-1 is further individually wet tested again, after final manufacturing, to a depth of 1250 feet, 25% more than stated on the dial. Your watch then receives a TESTED certification card, individually serialized, and attached to your watch before being shipped to you.
HOW IS MY SERIAL NUMBER UNIQUE
ARES manufactures individual serial numbers for each of our production watches, thereby guaranteeing authenticity and ensuring that no two numbers will ever match or be repeated. Your DIVER-1 is unique to you.
WHAT IS THE DRY CASE INSIDE THE BOX
Your DIVER-1 is shipped inside a custom manufactured dry case. The dry case, manufactured for ARES by Seattle Sports and based upon their popular H2ZERO EPOCKET, provides wet protection during water activities. The front of the dry case supports haptic touch.
HOW DO I SET THE TIME
Unscrew the crown;
Gently pull the crown two clicks to STOP position;
Adjust the time:Gently press the crown to start position;
Tighten the crown until fully seated and closed
**Failure to tighten crown fully closed will compromise the integrity of the watch and VOID the Lifetime Warranty
HOW DOES THE MISSION TIMER BEZEL WORK
The Mission Timer bezel functions as a 60 minute countdown timer. The 0 is indicated by the illuminated bezel pip symbol: ▼
For example, with the pip in the 12 o’clock position the minute hand will indicate - point to - the remaining countdown time to “0” on the bezel. To set, move the bezel counter-clockwise to place the desired bezel number onto the minute hand; the pip indicator will then mark the “END” time.
HOW DOES MY WATCH ILLUMINATION WORK
Your watch is illuminated - lume - with Swiss Super-LumiNova, a the choice of the Swiss watch industry for the highest possible afterglow performance. It works like a light storage battery, where light charges the battery and afterwards the light is continuously emitted. This activation and subsequent light emission - lume - can be repeated again and again, and the material doesn’t suffer any aging. The materials are 100% Swiss made.
WHY DOESN’T THE SECOND HAND INDEX OR TOUCH EACH SECOND MARKER
Your watch is equipped witha 5-jewel gold Swiss movement, manufactured by Swiss manufacturer Ronda, and powered by a 10-year lithium-ion battery. You may notice that, as a battery powered movement, the second hand on your watch - the hand that measures each second - does not ‘fall” directly in line with each printed second marker on the dial. Battery powered watches, regardless of manufacturer, rarely do. Power is drawn from the battery to the movement to “drive” and “stop” the second hand, consuming energy on during both the starting and stopping phase. In order to maintain a 10 year lifespan, as a design feature I chose the 715Li, knowing that what it lacked in start/stop precision it more than compensated for in longevity. I would rather your watch tell accurate time for 10 years than be precise to each marker on the dial for one year.
